Telehealth Policy

Due to the COVID-19 pandemic situation, we are offering bulk billing telehealth consultations to all patients.

Vulnerable patients at risk of COVID-19 are advised to stay at home. To facilitate this, where possible, we recommend medical care through a telehealth consult. These patients include:

  • Patients required to self-isolate/quarantine in accordance with guidance issued by the Australian Health Protection Principal Committee in relation to COVID-19,

  • Patients over 70 years of age,

  • Patients being treated for chronic diseases such as heart, lung disease and diabetes, Aboriginal or Torres Strait Islander descent and above the age of 50,

  • Currently pregnant or caring for a child younger than 12 months of age,

  • Is immunocompromised,

  • Meets the current national triage protocol criteria for suspected COVID-19 infection

We can arrange a telehealth consult via video (Healthdirect Video Conference) or phone. Please let our staff know what you require.

During a telehealth session, your doctor may determine that you require a face-to-face consultation for further assessment or treatment. We ask that, if possible, you come into the clinic during opening hours. If that is not possible, or if it is after clinic opening hours, we may request that you seek urgent medical care through other avenues, such as an after hours locum service or the hospital Emergency Department.
